4th July 2009

We had a great Day. It started early at 7am for flag raising and breakfast at the Chapel. This year as tom is on scouts he got to help put up the flag.

he was prcticing the day before and I was watching him, do the boogie!! here is a mini movie to prove that he can be good when he needs to.. oh and looks good in his scout uniform.

We stayed for breakfast afterwards and it was great not having to help out this year but be with the family and talk to people.

Everyone loved mike's artwork on our faces .

Afterwards we came home and SLEPT.

later we had a BBQ with the Kieslings at thier place and found out they have a new job in IOWA starting in august, just a few weeks away, we will miss them greatly!

After we had stuffed ourselfs we went to the college park fireworks.

As a kid firework explode into really big balls that seem to srink each year you grow, this year these fireworks were MASSIVE and we were not near them. I loved them especailly the really big ones... Ash wasn't so keen, but "the small ones were fun"!

You know when school has ended for the year for it seems the rain forest has desended on your home in the form of paper alas school projects. well tom brought home alot, that I had to sit there and read and smile nicely about. But one piece of work stood out completely and had me laughing and I knew I had to shave with you all. It is called:

A book written and illustrated by Ms entwistle 2nd grade class. (kids are 8years old)

The Fastest thing in the world is a cheetah on a motorcycle.
The Sweetest thing in the world is Ms Entwistle passing lollipops.

The Stickest thing in the world is a 4,000 pounds of cotton candy that is stuck on a farmer's head.
The Smellest thing in the world is a room filled with garbage and old gym socks.
The Scariest thing in the world is somebody that is dead and gets up in the night.
The Teensy-Weeniest thing in the world in a microscopic ant.
The Oddest thing in the world is when you wake up in the middle of the night and see your mom dancing in the living room.
The Silliest thing in the world is a turtle playing a guitar.
The Funniest thing in the world is a paleontolodist working with a dinosaur.

Getting Big

WOW.... just a few months ago we baptised Tom. He loved it as he came out of the water he asked it he can go back in and do it again!. I lovingly informed him he couldn't, but when he was 12years old he can go to the temple and get baptised alot for those who had died.
His reply " how long is that mom?"

Me " 4 years Tom"

Tom " oh man, that's too long"

Me " hehehe"

He just had a great day and loves being 8 years old.

That was just 3 months ago, and in those months Tom has grown, not just in height, but also has grown up. He has started to wash up the dishes, starting to read chapter books and learnt that He is in charge of his diet and behaviour.

He has started Cub scouts and loving it. He has earned his first patch too.

He have also have helped Dad make a pinewood derby car and race it.
The car didn't do too good, but then it was our first car, maybe next year we will do better. But it did win on the best artistic car.
This year has already seen alot of changes and we are only a few months into the year, with many more planned!.

It's HOT!

Hey it is April and we have had 2 days of 90+f heat. I myself am a winter baby and love the rain and snow, so I'm melting alittle here. not much to do but hide indoors in a nice cool! apartment and try to educate the boys in heat stroke and dehydration.......

So we have started to read the scriptures together as a family. We all take turns including Tom and Ash. Ash even has his own scriptures.
We found them in the DB center when we went to Utah, Ash came running up to Mike and I with a little BOM and we couldn't say no. They were just too darn cute and so was his pleading. I later made a mini scripture case for them and he takes them to church each week... just like his older brother Tom.

It's a start

Yes, due to several well meaning friends. I'm going to try this attempt at keeping everyone updated though blogging.
One thing for sure is that my spelling MUST improve!!!!!!
But as the Americans and England say things differently my grammar will not be improving as one or the other will also say that I said that wrong!.

Why did I start this, well lately things haven't been moving along in our life as quickly as I wanted, so I got "alittle" negative in my every day talk.
I was at church and heard a sister say that she always tries to think of positive things when she was being too moany.. so I came up this this great Idea. I would make myself a little wipe-off card to go on the kitchen cabinet that read:

" Today I am Grateful for _________"

So I did, and preceded to fill it out. Today I'm grateful for SHOES. Yes I know it sounds weird, but The boys were being, well boys and I'm a girl (girls never workout how boys think, even mom girls), and well I had hurt my foot the day before and the only relief I had from the pain was... shoes. So that day I was REALLY thankful for shoes!.
Anyway that was the last time I filled out the card, 5 days ago. Each morning I would get up, and on the card would have something written on it (not by me). the first was " my lovely wife", I just could NOT wipe that and put something else and yesterday was "dead cow", also not by me! that one has a whole different story to it, which I will get to later.
Anyway I thought would like to get a record of these feelings that my family have. Also I have memory problems so this is a way for me to remember all that is right in my life!
So Enjoy......
