Boats!

Well the Boats needed a posting all of it's own, as I think we went a little boat mad when we go to England.
My Dad helps maintain and run 2 boat, a tall ship sailing boat and a steam! boat.
The tall ship was out for the week we where there, but Mike and Ashton got to go on a tour of the steam. Tom had over eaten the day before at the family BBQ and couldn't move without throwing up!!
Teaching the next generation the trick of the trade!
Just in case... better make sure it fits.
"Can YOU see where we are going grandpa"

HMS VISTORY
We also got to take Mike to the HMS victory a ' really cool pirate boat' according to Ashton. Yes we have tried hundreds of times to tell him it was a navy boat that was chasing AFTER pirates. But as he can run around this real life size ship picking up cannon balls and sitting in hammocks pretending to be a pirate. It has to be a pirate ship to him.
Cannons!... where's the gun!....... This was the second time I has to run after a loose cannon ball.
Tom wasn't impressed with the restroom!.... "it's a hole to the sea, mom!"
This cannon took balls the same weight as Ashton.

We also took a tour of the harbor, Sorry no pictures as the navy ships where in and I didn't want to go through boarder control with a bunch of navy boat photos on a camera!!!!! hello homeland security.

HMS WARRIOR
Last but I'm sure not the very last time we will be on ships.
Was a visit to HMS Warrior a engine powered ship.
this one too the boys could run around on and touch things.

Castles and Forts

You know you have all boys when your holiday is filled with visiting castle, Forts and boats!.
As I like visiting castle and Forts and boats this is not a bad thing! and the boys ( that includes the hubby) all have these fun faces on when they discovery something!
So we visited Portchester castle, which is in ruins but the keep has been restored with floorboards and roof, which we walked up. Got to the top and we ALL wondered how to get me back down and why the heck they let me up there in the first place!!!!!!!
Ashton even found a tower named after Him!

I was resting on a bench when a not so little boy came and asked for the camera. 'I was tired' is my only excuse for giving it to him!!!
All art work and poses done by unsupervised children!!! in a castle.
I think this was a nook that the boys decided a statue would of been in so the posed as one.

FORTS
We also visited Fort Nelson which had the added benefit of having a Gun/Cannon musem in!
Look mom a pirate cannon!

"On 3.... 1,2,3 Lift!"
They even fired a really loud gun for us!
More Guns to climb on! oh little boys.

Day one- Emma's brother wedding

The reason we went to England was due to the wedding of Emma's brother Jim to Anna his longstanding girlfriend (not his sister).

The wedding was held in a Manor house that has been turned into a hotel, in the New Forest (national park)
while waiting for the bride, we gave the camera to Ashton to take photos. He's really good for a 6year old.
